So...did my orientation, which consisted of my new boss handing me a stack of papers and cassette tapes and vanishing. Amusing.

Then I got the store tour, sort of, without actually being introduced or show anything that I might need to know.

Only the store manager seems to know what I'm getting paid, and he wasn't around, so neither I, nor anyone else actually knows what I'll be making yet, which is amusing, annoying, and unprofessional all rolled into one big heap of goodness.

They (supposedly) haven't told anyone I'm full time yet, but apparently word got out anyhow, and the poor guy that had to train me today applied for the job, they haven't told him why he didn't get it, just made him train his new boss. He seems sweet enough, if a little quiet, but makes the most out of the fact that Michael's has what appeared to be the most poorly designed register system EVER, which means that it takes ridiculously longer to check someone out than it should.

So I did orientation, then I train for 2 days next week, and then I'm flying solo.

No. Bueno.

Also, next week's schedule consists of mid, and then 2 turnarounds, back to back. Close tuesday, open wednesday, close thursday, open friday. The only benefit I see in this, is that I get 2 weekends in a row off, which is good for moving.

Beside all that, this whole prospect seems very dubious, and I miss my quiet little office life. *sadface for the quiet office life*

Life seems good--no impending apocalypse. Would like a job, but whatever, have finally settled on the thought that it will come when it comes. (There is still the issue of the badly written missives I keep getting about a position in North Carolina as a KronosWorkforceCentral Techno-Function Consultant, but I will not entertain that idea until I can get them to answer some questions about such a seemingly dubious prospect. If you can't even construct a sentence, do I really want to work for you and send you my information for processing? Answer that and we'll debate the merits of NC.)

Have enough money to pay my bills through October, thanks to this nifty house sitting gig, and I'm totally game for that again should occasion arise. Would have enough to pay through November, but that one big credit card is a real bitch (Ryan do you remember when I got it and I couldn't imagine how on earth I would spend $5500 on anything?), but no worries there. The other 2 cards are tiny in comparison, and I don't really use them frequently enough to worry about them.

Looking forward to sleeping in my own bed, and to not waking up to a cat licking my eyelids, because quite frankly, my cat doesn't want anything to do with anyone while they're sleeping, unless she's really hungry. Albert is sweet, but its disorienting to have catbreath in your face and sandpaper tongue on your eyelids at 3 in the morning.

The writing has stalled slightly, mostly because I got lazy and didn't feel like putting the effort into it, which is HORRIBLE, because really, I should be making something out of sitting on my ass doing nothing. Tempted to call in every favor to anyone I know and see who wants me to come work for them as a grunt if it'll pay enough to feed me and put a roof over my head. Tempting as NC might be, its NC, and what the fuck is out there except a possibly dubious job from people who cannot speak English.

I feel I've wandered off topic slightly, which is amusing in so far as I'm not sure I had a topic to begin with.

Hungry, sleepy, and just the tiniest bit hungover from barhopping with my girls last night.

Love for those of you who put up with my inability to keep in touch like a normal human being :)

Put your answers into UrbanDictionary and see what comes up. (I only chose one answer out of the multiples it pulled up, generally the one that tickled me the most)

1.) Your name?
Erin
Erin is a female who has the body of a goddess and the brain of a genius. Men are drawn to her good looks and her awsome sense of humour. Out of all the females in the world its the Erins who rule.
guy: your just like Erin
girl: omg thats the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me

2.) Your age?
25

1.The age at which one can finally rent a car in the United States without being charged enormous amounts of money and without having to sign thousands of papers for that matter.
So, a half-blind 70-year-old just got his license, rents a car a kills 5 people is more acceptable than a 24-year-old who has been driving for up to 10 years without an accident.
"How was your trip to New York?"
-"Fuck that! I got stabbed and mugged in the subway because I woulda had to pay $100 more per day for renting a car cuz im not 25 yet!"
2.Lysergic Acid Diethylamide-25. LSD, acid
Do you know where I can score a few hits of25?
3. 25
(Pronounced two-five)
Used primarily with selling of weed, when buying a stick (flat rate of 25AUD) is called a 25.
Also comes in a 50 (pronounced five-o).
Definition only good for Australia.
Buyer: Can I pick up that 25?
Dealer: Meet you at Thomas Park at 9pm.
4.A certian amount of hash. around about 10 inches long and as thick as the lead for pencils.
Boi give me a 25 of dat H.
5.A highly misunderstood number, when in fact it is actually an adjective for fantastic sharks. This word is commonly mispronounced and misinterpreted as a form of measurement; when in actuality it is properly pronounced “Twenteny-Fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiive”. Much like the captain up on the vessel that was hunting the allusive Jaws. For further information please put the fork in the garbage disposal YES!!! DING!
Yo lets get a 30 of keystone tonight!... No bro, lets get a 25"

3.) One of your friends?
Sara
A special type of dance that is both sexual and orgasmic.
Fool, I was dancing sara all over that beezy last night!

4.) What should you be doing?

this block of nonsensical text is to be used as a device to baffle and incite confusion amoungst users of internet forums

Are you aware that there are people in this world that have a severe medical condition which causes them to be that way? My mother for instance is one of those people. She is a truck driver that has bad knees and a bad back from driving the truck but you probably do not care about that case either. Oh well I am not one of those people I am 6'4" 245lbs and I exercise every day. I would love to see you say something like to my mother in front of me. Probably never happen though you are probably just an internet tough guy. I doubt very seriously you would say that to someones face. Just my thought. What do you think. Oh I am sorry you probably do not have a brain. I on the other hand will be happy to buy you a plane ticket to come here and see if you have the nerve to say that to someone I know.
A: guys life sucks and im thinking about blowing off my face with a shotgun and/or swallowing a bottle of pills. what should i do?
B: are you aware...

5.) Favorite color?
Grey
A type of extra terrestrial being (alien). Usually the most common amongst alleged abductees. Also the type most commonly connoted with the Rosswell, New Mexico crash site.
Some believe Greys are of the same species of alien as Reptilian. This is debatable.
The Rosswell, NM crash site yielded several aliens. They were all Greys.

6.) Birthplace?
California
A state where it takes an hour to get from the beach to the snowcapped mountains.
What did you do today in california?
I surfed and went snowboarding
SICK!

7.) Month of your birth?
August
That short German muscle guy that sits in the back of the bar who can drink everybody under the table.
Who's that guy in the back of the bar drinking from a stein? Oh, that's August! Speaking of him, that makes me feel like drinking. Let's tilt another down!

8.) Last person you talked to?
MA
Used in MMORPG (e.g. World of Warcraft) to denote who everyone takes their target from. Short for Main Assist
Leeroy will be our MA today so everyone take his target

9.) One of your nicknames?
Birdie (I swear Beth, ma has been calling me that since I was munchkin sized!!)
Used to describe the act of taking a sip from another person's beverage without touching one's lips to the rim of the container.
(It is interesting to note that only native Orange County residents know the true definition of this term)
1.
I love Colorado, really. Its gorgeous country, even if it is ridiculously fucking windy and ungodly cold at 2am. Boulder is pretty, in a very urban kind of way, but I'm pretty sure I could totally live here if I needed too. As for why I'm here, Ma was all kinds of excited about a rally and educational event for Leonard Peltier, who today is celebrating (if one can use such a word) his 33rd year of unjust and illegal imprisonment.

I'mma hop up here on my soap box for just a minute folks, if you are particularly interested, no hard feelings, you might want to skip this next bit. http://www.whoisleonardpeltier.info/
That's who we're here for, someone who's right have been done a grievous wrong in this country. What's worse, it has never been apologized for, has never been rectified, and now this man has lost 33 years of his life, lost his health, and lost his freedom for something he did not do, for something that there is no evidence to support criminal intent, and something for which two others were pardoned.

Ummm...yeah. I napped while writing this, which means I've lost my train of thought. Derailed actually.

So, anyway, in Colorado, beautiful. Internets, wonderful. Paradise Bakery for breakfast=drool. Cheesecake Factory for dinner=bigger drool. Happy.

Yay for our President, who in his first day in office, has show that he absolutely is the president that we have needed and deserved, and are finally worthy of.

Yay for the promised closure of Guantanamo within the year, and moving towards being the icon for human rights that this country should be. And yay for trying to already put a tourniquet on the economic hemorrhage that plagues us all--lets hope he can keep it up.

In other news, I've been throwing shit away all day, which is very freeing, and discovered my garbage disposal is leaking, which was annoying. Also, my poor kitty is in heat again, but being still broke, she'll have to wait a little longer still to get that fixed.

I hate packing, I don't want to do it anymore, and I'm not sure I'll be ready on Saturday to get all this shit in my storage unit.

Of course I'll probably run out of boxes before then, so maybe that will be my excuse.

And then the cleaning beginnings...
